Rajgad, the mighty one..

one thing we generally hate to do is to wake up early on a weekend..but that became necessary when we planned that on the entry of monsoon we shal visit nearby beautiful places.
..all we thought of was to have a change on weekend but we didn't expect to be awestruck...
Since we didn't keep up with our aim to wake up early we searched for all kinds of shortcuts to reach the destination...having a smart phone is sometimes helpful..:). we traveled through all kinds of roads highway, local, ghat, even kutcha roads..we found peacocks in the fields nearby
road less travelled

we were enthralled by the beauty of the hills and the greenery. we slowly began our journey towards 'chor darwaja
' from Sakhargaon. When ever we felt tired we tried our hands on photography.

mist hiding the hills
As it was very misty we were not sure of our destination and all of us were new to the place, so when we found trials on top the hills and people as small as ants...we thought OMG can we do it...!!!we didn't know that this is small when compared to the climbing the rocky part which we faced later.
rocky stairs leading to chor darwaja
as soon as we thought we are done we found facing new challenges.. this time it was rocky part of the hill where we have to climb with the help of support. we are new for it but still managed to pass through it..
we were surprised when we found children there selling 'Chaas'. When we spoke to them they told that they go to school and in free time they don the role of sales person...they are very familiar with the route and were walking as in we do so on a normal road..!!.
children on their way to village

Oh...finally we reached 'Chor darwaja' and found the stony walls and thought that we reached our destination and where enjoying the scenery till we found people a top another hill. We realized the mist was playing hide and seek with us...here we where in the question whether to go or not as many where saying that "that part will be difficult"...we decided to check it by ourselves...the path itself is beautiful..on one side we have the rocky hill and the other side deep valley..
path leading to the main fort
I was awestruck with what we found...a narrow and slippery path at the edge of the valley to climb atop..my friends gave a serious look when i still donned the photographer role..so i have to put away the cam :(... even later i don't why i haven't captured that part of our journey..it just missed..i even regret now..
we have to wait at the start of the stairs as the trekkers who had night camped where returning...they encouraged us and reminded us that this is the path we need to take while returning...:(. On top it was mist everywhere...just had a look around and we start returning..

On way back we found people who where starting their journey...and we where answering to the same questions which we asked earlier...!!
I suggest that Rajgad will be best weekend getaway, that too in a day..
