Parks of Pune - I

                                                           

                                                                        Sambhaji park

searching for kid friendly places, I zeroed down to Sambhaji park. The park is located on JM road. The entry to the park is free. It has ample greenery and various varieties of outdoor play equipment for kids. It also has a small aquarium.

We visited the park on Sunday and OMG!!!

it was over crowded :). The kids play area was like a school playground. Everything was  fully occupied. Luckily we found a slider which helped Praneth to overcome his hesitancy. He climbed up twice and had a panoramic view of the entire park.

 He wanted to try out a swing but the demand was high, kids were waiting for it in queue. The play area is more suitable for kids above 5 years. The younger kids can enjoy too but the options are limited. They need supervision which may hinder the elder ones.

After spending time in the park we went to aquarium. The aquarium is located at the end of the park near the parking space. Entry ticket for adult is 2 Rs and for kids its 1 Rs. Not a big collection, but  kids will enjoy. One thing that bothered me here was the way in which teenagers are eager to take pictures than to savor the moment. How a mere picture can create nostalgia if there is no time associated to it, it just becomes an event. The crowd here is nominal . Some fishes are in good condition, some of them looked 'dull' may be they are not aquarium type. 

On the whole the experience was average.

Pros: ample greenery, good play area,food stalls are available

Cons: on a weekend it's overcrowded...other than that i didn't notice any. May be i forgot to switch on the critical eye  ;-)
