Bhimasankar is one of the twelve Jyotirlinga. Route to Bhimasankar is a diversion from Pune-Nashik highway.Till rajgurunagar(from Pune) the road will be good after that you can't expect a smooth ride..
We did google a lot to know what are the places to be visited. One was hanuman point and the other was gupt bhimasankar. We started early on a Saturday The route was very beautiful, the road side ground was covered with yellow flowers and small

streams of water flowing from the hills...
The temple of Bhimasankar is on a hill, there is ample parking spot provided. Bhimasankar is listed mostly in the south indian tours along with Shirdi. We found many tourist buses in the parking and thought that we may not get darshan soon..may be there might be long queue..!!!But it was destined otherwise.
We found very small queue and the darshan was very quick in fact you can have darshan one more time. Just before us a group of pilgrims had darshan and were performing Bhajan..we waited till the bhajan is completed and then left to explore. We heard many devotees speaking telugu, by speaking to them we found out that the people were from all corners of AP...!!

on way to hanuman point |
It was near to noon and we wanted to leave early, so we thought to visit hanuman point first. After coming out of temple, if you face to the temple the path leads to the hanuman point(we were told so).. the path was good, but you can't find any shade. We went along with our friends, they were new to having a long walk in wild(i can't call it a trek). I don't want to disappoint them so we returned back to visit Gupt bhimasankar. Inside the temple premises there is a path on the right leading to Gupt bhimasankar. Just follow the rivulet that emerges from the temple(in fact it is Bhima river). the small stream of water from the tank will gush and flow and fall after some distance. The path was very good, you will be in the shade of huge trees all through the way. We arranged a guide to show us the spot. But guide is not need, proper signs are present at each junction.
This place is also home for the Gaint Indian Squirell, we spotted one :).

i could only capture this....it was very fast.. |
You can hear the sound of water almost in 90% of the journey. We crossed a waterfall, all our 5 senses were thrilled. 1) You get fresh air 2)sound of water splashing on the rock 3)short drops of water spread around, these will actually indicate that the waterfall is nearby even before you see them 4)scenic beauty for eyes 5) you forget hunger..;-)

Gupt bhimasankar |
we crossed one more stream, then our guide told that we will encounter one more stream that is our destination point. Not long after we crossed the final stream and went below. The stream was falling from a rock, we crossed on the rock and went below to were the stream was flowing down. The sight was amazing. behind the water one can find the 'Shivalinga'. Water engulfs it always so one can't find it easily. You have to be careful near that area as it is very slippery. We had some snaps and started returning. Good time to visit GB is after monsoons as in monsoon heavy flow of water makes it difficult to reach the area.
We took another path while returning, we didn't find any waterfall but crossed a stream once. Bhimasankar has abundant natural beauty, you can spend an entire day.
